My wish to you for 2011 !

Peace ,Joy and Happiness.

As 2011 begins we shall be high in the sky flying to start our journey to see our daughter.

Thank you so much for all your support during 2010.

I will try and pop in from time to time during January and February but as we are not taking our computer my visits may be sporadic but I promise to try and capture some moments to share.

Definitely the Best Ever!

We have a tradition in our house that every year we always think the tree is the Best Ever!

Actually this optimistic viewpoint works really well - and we cant remember from one year to another anyway!

Well we have had so much snow since our arrival back in the UK getting a tree was proving tricky to say the least so ever resourceful all it took was a saw and some laughter!

And yes, it does have a little slant and certainly needs to go in the corner but all the old favourites look as happy as ever and we are, so that's all that really counts!

Luckily the Christmas twig lives on the roof of the garage and the glass baubles look very fitting with the snowscene behind!

I hope your Christmas tree has given you as much fun !

It's that time again!

Woolly things packed and Spanish "Goodbyes" Said!

So lucky to have a life here and there!

The tables outside one of our favourite coffee stops have been packed away and replaced for a little while.

So love and Feliz Navidad to Spain.

For lots of reasons I have been thinking about the concept of ego of late.

But tonight I was simply thrilled to reach the milestone of 50 followers.

I have been stuck on 49 for absolutely ages and 1 of that number is me!

I have actually always loved to write a diary -- and kept it under the floorboards - so definitely no ego involved there.

And, I write this blog for many,many reasons but not for recognition. 

It truly is not important in that sense.

But to feel a part of a "community",

 To feel in touch with people,

 To share life,ideas,challenges,good causes.

Everyday thoughts and inspirations to me is so important.

 So I will not worry so much that it is my ego which is massaged by followers

 But how lovely that I can share my life with at least 49 people and me!

So a special "Thank you" to Jacqui, number 50, but also a very heartfelt  "thank you" to all my other followers. 

 You make my days very special by your lovely comments

Wanting to share!

For a while I have been a bit busy with new charity projects.

The pull-a-long suitcase is packed and ready to roll home to the U.K--
 A few items of clothes have been put on the top to keep the " Luvvies" and "Hearties " warm as they acclimatise to the drop in temperatures back in the U.K!

Soon all these little bits and pieces will be in the post to Loving Hands Charity.

All this has got me thinking and thinking.

I am so looking forward to the number 50 on my Followers List and then I thought it is better to give than receive so here are the patterns for the " Hearties" and "Luvvies!" 

I hope they make their way into shoe boxes for Charity all over the world.

Janet works so hard with this wonderful project.


Pattern for My "Hearties"

Cast on 2 stitches.

Knit 1 row.

Purl 1 row.

Increase 1 in each stitch ( 4 stitches )

Purl 1 row.

Increase in same way until 32 stitches.

Start top of heart shaping as follows.

Knit row---- Knit first 2 stitches together through back of stitch. Knit 12, Knit 2 together,Turn and work on these stitches.

Purl 1 row on these stitches only.

Knit first 2 stitches together through back of loop. Knit 10 ,Knit 2 together.

Purl 1 row.

Continue in this manner until 4 stitches remain.

Purl 1 row

Cast off 4 stitches.

Break Yarn.

Join to second half of heart and work to match .

Make 2 " hearties" and stuff . Add features.


Add heart pocket by casting on 10 stitches and knitting 20 rows in garter stitch.


Heart is worked as follows
Crochet
Chain 2
In first chain work 3 trebles
In same space work 3 half trebles.
1 chain in same space.
1 treble in same space
1 chain in same space
3 half trebles in same space
3 trebles in same space and slip stitch to complete heart.

Luvvies to follow!

Yay! I passed!

Last Spring I started Level Two Reiki Healing.

I worked all summer and today I passed.

I have so enjoyed it and learnt so much.

It feels really good!

That Cheesecake is still as delicious!

Cheesecake, Figs, Pomegranates and Orange- a marriage made in Heaven!

There's Nothing like a Dame!

Every December the Dames of Turre hold a Christmas Fair where the proceeds support various local charities!

Of course the woolly things immediately caught my eye!

Lots of lovely jewellery,

That always makes me think of my girls!

Plants

Jams and Chutneys.

And ladies just like me!

Needles at the ready.

Pretty stalls.

And children just enjoying themselves, oblivious to all that money raising.

I hope they made lots of money!
